The largest Savory Institute Hub in the world, Australian Holistic Management Co-Operative, has successfully adopted 3LM’s Bart technology for use with Ecological Outcome Verification.
Christopher Cooke went to Australia in April to begin the implementation process with them. We have worked together with them for the past three months to get ready for their implementation.
Helen Lewis, CEO of Australian Holistic Management Co-Operative, was delighted by their implementation of Bart this past week:
So great to have the team together for calibration this week… as we embark on our 2024/25 season using the Bart App and Portal which will streamline our data capture, through to reports. A huge thank you to our team members John Stokes and Silas Blough for embedding Bart over the last two months, and to Emily Whyman and Harry Watson for the Calibration and Accreditation of monitors. We will have 15 monitors going into our 2024/25 season. Our sincere thanks to Christopher Cooke, and Sheila Cooke of 3LM and your tech team for developing Bart and guiding/supporting our team through to implementation. Thanks so much to Simon Goodall for all your tech support on the EOV Platform to make it all work. This has been a terrific collaboration and joint effort between Hubs & Savory, covering new ground together.
Ecological Outcome Verification (EOV) is a survey methodology that gives the land a voice of its own, through empirical outcomes, which provide the farmer with ongoing feedback from which to make better management decisions.
EOV is a scientifically-valid indicator of ecosystem process change, showing the progression from degradation to recovery to regeneration.
Prior to Bart, hubs relied upon a manual system where data was collected on paper, then manually keyed into spreadsheets for calculations, and then keyed again into reports and then finally into the global EOV database. Bart enables one-time data collection in the field on a ruggedised device, and the data is checked for quality and then passed through all systems automatically.
