Leather Grown on Regenerating Soils is Hot!

Sheila Cooke • May 05, 2021

We are delighted to announce that Grady + Robinson are new Savory Institute Market Partners for EOV-Verified leather.

We have three market partners in the Land to Market programme: The Ethical Butcher for meat, HD Wool for wool, and the latest one to join the group is Grady + Robinson for leather.

The partnership between regenerative entrepreneur Sara Grady, and fashion designer Alice Robinson, aims to create a European supply chain for EOV-verified, traceable leather made from the hides of pastured cattle and sheep.

"Savory Institute's leadership is critical in advancing regenerative practices around the world, and we are thrilled to partner with the Land to Market program, and regional UK hub 3LM, in creating a new supply of leather that is traceable to regenerative farms."

- Sara Grady

3LM hosted the Savory Institute booth at the Future Fabric Expo last year in London. We had EOV-verified leather from our sister hub, White Oak Pastures, in the stand. If we could have offered it for sale, we would have sold out. Many fashion designers enquired about it. Our new market partner, Sara Grady, was responsible for getting that leather processed and to market.

"As a designer, I desire to know the origins and story of the leather I am working with, and I am keen for other designers to have the chance to work with leather with regenerative origins. As a Land to Market partner in our new supply chain initiative, we are able to provide that choice – and with it a renewed sense of value."

-- Alice Robinson
