Low Stress Livestock Handling

Course Description

Discover how to view the world from a cow's perspective for safer, more relaxed cattle handling. Miriam Parker, a trainee of pioneers Bud Williams and Temple Grandin, earned an MBE for her contributions to farming in 2006.

Tangible Outcomes

Learning Outcomes

Here are the topics covered in the course:

  • Being a Cow: natural cattle behaviour.
  • Cows & the Unfamiliar: examine how to work with the animal’s natural behaviour.
  • Find the flight zone: identify behaviour when 'pressure' is applied.
  • Market Facilities: keys to handling system design.
