Marce Evans's capacity for holistic thinking was apparent as a young medical doctor. When she wrote a prescription she would wonder, "What if this patient has an adverse reaction to this drug? How will I cope with knowing my decision-making made the patient worse, not better?" She noticed that none of the other young doctors around her ever questioned the use of pharmaceuticals.

Eventually, she made the switch to ranching holistically in Southern California at 5 Bar Beef. She is also Executive Director & President, The HERD Foundation – Holistic Education for Reversing Desertification in Silverado, California.
