“The biggest challenge facing the planet is the diet-health-environment trilemma. If we can connect animal fat to human health, then we are helping heal people and the planet at the same time. That’s the solution”, says founder of Anú Dairy , Kevin Kennedy.

He continues, “It starts with Soil. The earth has co-evolved with large herbivores, they play an integral part in cycling nutrients and burying carbon. Putting the cow #1 is the most important thing.”

Regenerative Approach

A key component of Anú Dairy’s approach is to secure high quality milk supply through grazing management and soil microbiome analysis.

The farms selected in Anú Dairy’s supply chain in many cases initially rely on chemical fertilisers and may have poor soil quality. For suppliers to the Anú Dairy product line, the Company prepares specific analysis of soil health for these suppliers to enhance the nutraceutical value of the milk provided and support farmers in lowering chemical fertiliser costs.

The company’s methods go beyond the typical organic food company as Anú Dairy is also a regenerative agriculture company that develops solutions to increase soil organic and carbon levels along with traditional chemical-free organic farming.

Innovative Startup Company

Anú Dairy, established in April 2016 as a Certified Organic food company, aim to connect the consumer to the positive role of cows in creating healthy food from healthy soils.

Anú Dairy were recently chosen by the Bank of Ireland to be one of three start-up agricultural companies featured at the National Ploughing Championships 2017. Watch this video made by Bank of Ireland:

Kevin recently won the International Food & Drink Event (IFE) competition in Dublin, which sends him to the finals where he will get to make his pitch on the TV series, Dragons’ Den, in London, March 2018.

Regenerative Supply Chain

3LM and Anú Dairy are working in partnership to build a regenerative supply chain of milk producers in Ireland.

Anú Dairy seek Irish milk producers who are struggling with degraded land, and who are willing to convert to an organic standard using holistic management as the framework for decision-making and planning.
