Happy grass, happy cows, happy people.

Anonymous • 2 November 2018

We recently attended a holistic management and holistic grazing course run by Sheila and Chris Cooke. From the information we learned, we have now gradually transitioned our dairy farm over to holistic management as a 12 month experiment.

Sheila recently gave us a phone call for a chat to see how we were getting on!.......

In a nut shell, here is a little update: During the past 6 months the holistic grazing system has overall been very successful, especially during the recent very hot weather. Farming with holistic management does indeed seem to be less stressful and we have very much enjoyed the holistic experience so far.

The photo shows a happy Holstein cow enjoying the July sunshine. This cow is doing 8500 litres per year, she does not get “meals on wheels” - as you can see, she is looking very proud with regard to her enthusiastic and excellent “animal impact” results. Happy grass, happy cows, happy people.
